How it works

Your path from signup to award

Six clear steps. No grant-writing experience needed.

Step 1

Build your business profile

Answer 6 quick questions about your business — location, industry, stage, team size, revenue, and what you need funding for. Takes about a minute.

Pro tip: The more specific you are about your funding purpose, the better your match scores.

Step 2

Get matched to live grants

Our automated engine searches thousands of verified U.S. grants — federal, state, private foundations, and corporate programs — and scores each one against your profile.

Pro tip: Re-run matching anytime you update your profile or once per quota cycle to find newly added grants.

Step 3

Review your match scores

Every grant gets a 0–100 match score based on eligibility alignment. Open My Grants to see funding amounts, deadlines, eligibility, and the official application link.

Pro tip: Focus first on grants scoring 75+ — those are your strongest fits.

Step 4

Save & track grants

Save grants you want to pursue. They move into your tracker so you can see deadlines, funder details, and your application status at a glance.

Pro tip: Pro users get unlimited saves and a full kanban-style pipeline.

Step 5

Generate winning applications

On Pro, click any saved grant and generate a complete draft application — executive summary, statement of need, project plan, impact, and credentials — all tailored to that specific grant.

Pro tip: Always edit the draft to add your own voice and specifics before submitting.

Step 6

Submit & track to award

Move applications through Draft → In Progress → Submitted → Awarded. Track win rates, total funding requested, and amounts awarded right from My Applications.

Pro tip: Update status as soon as you submit so your pipeline stats stay accurate.

Tips from winning founders

Best practices we've learned from thousands of awarded grants.

Be specific about funding use

Vague descriptions like 'grow my business' get vague matches. Specific projects like 'hire 2 part-time educators for an afterschool STEM program' unlock the best opportunities.

Apply early — most grants are first-come

Federal and state programs often close once funds are exhausted, even before the published deadline. Don't wait.

Verify eligibility before applying

Match score is a strong signal but always read the official eligibility section on the funder's site to confirm.

Customize every application

Use our generator to draft fast, then add your unique story, metrics, and community impact in your own voice.
